AI coloring book generator for KDP

One workflow, not a drawer of tools

Most generators give you a prompt box and a Generate button. A 40-page book means 40 prompts, 40 downloads, and a separate PDF tool to stitch them together, each step a place for style to drift or a dimension to come out wrong. CrayonMill treats the book as the unit of work: one audience, one theme, and one page count take you from a blank studio to a downloadable PDF, with the topic planning, drawing, cleaning, and print check all reading from the same setup instead of four separate tools that each need to agree with each other by hand.

1Pick who it's for (Toddler … Adults, Cozy)Suggests a default line weight (Extra bold to Fine, overridable) and the topic vocabulary
2Type a theme ("forest friends")Plans one distinct topic per art page, 24–300 (up to 150 single-sided), in one style
3Confirm page count and single-/double-sidedDraws, cleans to 1-bit, tracks every page live

What "print-ready" means here

  • 300 DPI: 2550 × 3300 pixels on 8.5 × 11 in, the resolution KDP recommends for print interiors.
  • 1-bit: pure black lines, pure white paper — no gray halos that print muddy.
  • Gutter by page count: 0.375 in up to 150 interior pages, 0.5 in up to 300.
  • Honest check: the export button stays disabled until every check passes, and tells you which one failed.

Failed pages cost nothing

Every page is a job. If the model times out or produces something unusable, the page shows a failed badge, its credit is refunded, and you regenerate it with one tap — the same topic, redrawn with a new seed, not a different subject.

What it does not do

  • It does not ask for a prompt per page — one audience and one theme cover the whole book, and the topic planner is the only place page-by-page variety comes from.
  • It does not preview the topic list before generating; planning and drawing happen as one step, and pages appear on the library grid as they finish rather than as a text list to approve first.
  • It does not accept a reference photo — every topic is drawn from text, not from an upload.
  • It does not build the cover file; this tool covers interior pages, with cover dimensions handled separately.

Questions

Do I have to write a prompt for every page?

No. You choose an audience and a theme; the topic planner writes one distinct topic per page and keeps the whole book in one style.

Is the PDF really ready for KDP?

The export check refuses a book unless every page is ready, 1-bit, the interior page count is inside CrayonMill's supported 24–300 window (KDP itself allows more), the gutter matches that count, and the safe margins and resolution are correct.

Can I use the pages commercially?

Yes, on every plan including the free pages.
